Nepal exports Orthodox tea, which is hand-processed tea or tea that is rolled with machinery that imitates hand-processing (1). There are many types of Nepali Orthodox tea: Silver, Tippy, Golden, Wiry, Orange, Pokoe, and Broken. These teas are all First Flush (Easter Flush) (2).
As of January 2010, Nepali tea was deemed free of pesticide residue and within exportable quality level by the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control (DTFQC). To read more on this, click here.
